Top 10 Vintage 2025 Homecoming Or Prom Dresses

Why Unique Vintage Party Dresses are the best choice for your next formal!

Be the Bell of the Ball :

Are you tired of dressing like everyone else? Did you have the worst experience last year when you found you were wearing the same dress as a dozen other people?

Well, your fears are now over! By wearing vintage, you are almost guaranteed to be the only person wearing that dress or anything remotely like it! Plus, you are doing the world a favor by eliminating what would otherwise be generally considered a single use piece. The best part about vintage is when you are done, I guarantee (unless you somehow destroy it) that dress will still have some value and you can probably resell it on a number of apps or to your local vintage shop! The same cannot be said for most modern dresses out there. So really, it's a win-win!

Here are my top 10 Vintage dresses you need for a unique look this Homecoming 2023 (or any other formal event).

The cupcakes … always start with dessert first!

Tulle on dresses - whether as the petticoat or as the main skirt - has been a staple on formal and cocktail dresses for decades. If you are looking for a fun piece that really enhances that fit and flare silhouette, than look no further than a 1950s or 1960s Tulle or “Cupcake” dress…

1 - This is one of my all time favorite dresses - A 1950s Cotillion label. This dress has an incredible pink tulle petticoat to really give you that volume! Plus, it has its own scarf!

2 - Feel like you are floating in the sunny sky with this incredible 1950s blue strapless ribbon and tulle dress!

3 - This wonderful 1950s red dress is particularly special. Not only is the dress itself an adorable strapless piece, but it comes with the original matching bolero!!

Timeless and Classic

If you want your old high school photos to be timeless and not cringeworthy like most humans . . . then go with a simple color palette and silhouette. And a classic vintage black dress is the perfect option. These looks are not overly fussy and they wont date your pictures . . . you will thank me later!

4 - This stunning 1950s black cocktail dress has the most lovely lace detailing, especially along the bodice and the back. It’s truly a classic look and BONUS : you can re-wear this dress for almost any special occasion!

5 - Just WOW! This absolutely stunning 1950s black ribbon dress really makes one feel like Old Hollywood Glam. And the sleeves can even be worn off the shoulder, for an even more elegant look!

6 - While this may look simple - this elegant 1950s black cocktail dress has a stunning lace bodice. The bonus to this piece is it includes the original matching jacket in case you get cold! The best part is you can rewear both pieces for numerous occasions!

And sparkle!

If you are like me and want to basically become your own personal disco ball, then a fully sequined dress is your answer. And the best part is the party will just come to you!

7 - You really cannot go wrong with any I. Magnin dress AND this fully sequined black 1980s bombshell is no exception!

8 - If you want something a little more flashy, look no further than this 1980s navy blue beaded dress. It will surely catch some eyes. I mean, just look at that hem!

On a Budget

Even vintage pieces that are in less than perfect condition can still stun and be great for an evening out! These more budget-friendly vintage dresses may have some flaws, but they look stunning on and you really cant beat the price!

9- This early 1960s pastel green lace gown has the most lovely sheath-like silhouette. And I love the satin bow detailing at the waist!

For the Homecoming Queen!

10 - Mike Benet made some incredible formal gowns in the 60s and 70s and this lovely purple chiffon dress with expert drapery on the bodice and a touch of rhinestones is surely one for the books!

BONUS - This dress is probably my favorite in the shop. Period. The fabric is a gorgeous shade of burnt orange satin. The style of the dress is a classic wrap with the original belt. Plus, this gem even has pockets! This dress is both luxurious and comfortable … a piece truly fit for a QUEEN!
