1940s 1950s Vintage Hi-Girl Light Ice-Blue Dolman Sleeve Cardigan & Skirt Knit Wool Set - Sm to Md
A lovely vintage late 40s or early 50s knit set for the collector. The light ice-blue tone pairs so perfectly with the glass buttons. The sweater buttons up the front and features dolman style sleeves. Skirt is a pull on. The label is for HI-Girl, but there is no size tag. Feels like wool. Would likely best fit a modern Small to Medium, given the stretching capabilities of the knit. For reference model is modern women’s size 4/6. Please see measurement - though remember there is a bit of give to the fabric.

Measurements of Top NOT Stretched :
Bust: 36 inches (these are dolmans sleeves) Model is a 34 B
Hem: 25 inches (there is give here too)
Length: 20 inches
Sleeve Length: about 16 inches (no shoulder seam to measure from)
Measurements of Skirt :
Waist: 24 -38 max inches (has elastic in waist)
Hips : 32 - 40 inches given the give of fabric
Length: 34 inches
Good vintage condition - Some overall wear to the knits with some pilling, though the nubby nature of the knit hides this well. Faint color fade and a few spots in places on the knits, but overall it’s hard to tell in my opinion. There is some additional discoloration to the cardigan right at the button holes that did not come out with cleaning, though when buttoned this is hidden well. The marks and discoloration was very hard to capture on camera, but I have done my best. Elastic in the waist looks to have been replaced by a more modern one at some point relatively recently, so it should be good to go for awhile!
All measurements are approximate as they are taken flat - for garments specifically this means where applicable (bust, waist, hips) has been doubled unless stated otherwise. If you are uncertain about fit and/or need more measurements please ask! If it is provided in the listing, models and/or dress form sizes are used as a point of reference only. Please remember that all bodies are different so always defer to the measurements I provide and check them against your own, preferably on a similar style garment.
