1940s 1950s Vintage Snyderknit Black Knit Dress with Satin Rose Applique - Xs to Sm
A coveted simple and chic cold weather staple! The silhouette is a classic late 40s or early 50s knit style! The black color of the knit is really enhanced by the stunning satin floral appliqué found on the piece. The flowers are almost 3D and really make this piece stand out. Its a great contender for anything from date night to a cocktail party! And like any knit- its super comfy in my opinion! The dress is a pull over, so keep this in mind for sizing. No content tag but feels like a standard 40s/50s boucle or chenille wool and has some give. Label for Snyderknit. Would likely best fit size Extra Small to Small. Model is modern size 4/6 for reference.

Dress Measurements not stretched:
Bust: 33 inches but there is enough give to the knit that it accommodated model who is a 34B.
Waist: 24 inches (there is enough give to accommodate model who has 27 inch waist)
Hips: 33 inches (again there is some give - model has 37 inch hips).
Length: 46 inches
Sleeve Length: about 13 inches (there is no seam to measure from at the shoulder)
Good vintage Condition: Some overall wear to the piece. There are a few small snags to knit as well as loose threads that do not seem to impact wear. The nubby texture really makes this not obvious. Slight discoloration to the tag. Depending on how much you stretch the knit when you wear it, you may need a slip underneath like model. A few areas of faint marks that did not come out with cleaning.
All measurements are approximate as they are taken flat - for garments specifically this means where applicable (bust, waist, hips) has been doubled unless stated otherwise. If you are uncertain about fit and/or need more measurements please ask! If it is provided in the listing, models and/or dress form sizes are used as a point of reference only. Please remember that all bodies are different so always defer to the measurements I provide and check them against your own, preferably on a similar style garment.
