RARE 1940s Vintage Bea Magnus Navy Blue Ribbon Knit Dress and Sweater Set - Sm to Md
A coveted 1940s Ribbon knit dress - with the original sweater! I could not believe my eyes with this beautiful and rare set. The lovely blue ribbon is expertly knit into a gorgeous textured, making the dress hug the body in all the right places. I have NEVER seen one in person with the matching sweater too, so that is a really special addition, especially as it gets chillier. Dress is a pull over - there are no closures. Sweater too is a pull on - there are no closures. Label on sweater is for Bea Magnus, but has no size tag. There is no tag in dress. There is give, given it is a knit. That being said I believe it would best fit a modern small to medium. Model is modern size 4/6 .

Good vintage condition - Minor overall wear to dress. You can see that the way the knit lays, there are some gaps. Most of this is minor and it is part of how this dress is meant to look, but I feel that for the larger gaps wearing a slip of the same color should do the trick at masking it! A few places where there are minor pulls to the ribbon found. Some marks and areas of discoloration found on both pieces, especially notable in the underarms of the dress. There was an aftermarket elastic added to the waist of the dress inside. I have left it in there in case you would like to add another one to your size so you can see how they stitched it in. BUT if it were me and my dress, I would remove the elastic waistband entirely as it was not there originally. I will leave that up to you to decide though.
All measurements are approximate as they are taken flat - for garments specifically this means where applicable (bust, waist, hips) has been doubled unless stated otherwise. If you are uncertain about fit and/or need more measurements please ask! If it is provided in the listing, models and/or dress form sizes are used as a point of reference only. Please remember that all bodies are different so always defer to the measurements I provide and check them against your own, preferably on a similar style garment.
