1950s Vintage Mildred Little Couture Iridescent Pink Taffeta Circle Skirt Petticoat - XS

$95.00

Iridescent taffeta is always a good idea! This fun 1950s shimmering pink circle skirt would make a great piece for a holiday outfit! The iridescent taffeta and bright color makes this a fun piece - but the little red rhinestone details and the quilted flowers in front are what really set this apart! While I think it was originally intended as a petticoat, it could easily be worn as a regular skirt today! Buttons and zips up the side with metal zipper. The label is for Mildred of California. It does not have a size, but it would likely best fit a modern Extra Small. Model is modern size 4/6 for reference, and it was VERY tight.

Measurements of Dress:

  • Waist : 24 inches

  • Hips: open given the skirt style

  • Length: 29 inches

  • Good vintage condition - There is some overall wear inside and out. There are a few wear spots in places. When you look at the these from the inside of the skirt, you can see they look like teeny pinhead sized holes. There are a few marks in places that did not come out with cleaning. A few loose threads that do not seem to impact wear at all. I have provided an image of how they did the quilting form the interior of the skirt - its just really cool to see the technique they used, but also it shows there is some extra fabric if you would ever need it in future for repairs! While there is elastic stitched within the back of the waist, it seems shot so if you want this skirt to be smaller you will have to replace this. I would say the elastic was not meant to ever make the waist larger - just smaller- as the fabric itself and the way the stitching is done makes it so the skirt waist cant get any bigger, even with elastic.

  • Fabric is taffeta so it does like to wrinkle - hang it up as soon as you receive it.

All measurements are approximate as they are taken flat - for garments specifically this means where applicable (bust, waist, hips) has been doubled unless stated otherwise. If you are uncertain about fit and/or need more measurements please ask! If it is provided in the listing, models and/or dress form sizes are used as a point of reference only. Please remember that all bodies are different so always defer to the measurements I provide and check them against your own, preferably on a similar style garment.
