1950s Vintage Black & Red "Minx Modes" Dress and Bolero - XS
This lovely black strapless dress set is so elegant. It features a very subtle red under-layer to the eyelets around the front of the bodice. The subtle pop of color would make this piece so fun to accessorize! The dress zips up the size with a metal zipper and features boning in the bodice. The dress has a matching bolero (this is where the label is) and belt. Fabric feels like taffeta. Label for “A Minx Modes Jr”. Jacket tags is vintage size 11, dress tag says vintage size 9. Overall the outfit would likely best fit a modern Extra small. See Measurements below. Model is modern size 4/6 for reference and its too small and could not zip up all the way (zipper works fine though).

Waist: 24 inches

Total Length: 38 inches (from top of bodice, down)
Measurements of Bolero:
Bust: about 34 inches
Sleeve length: about 1 inch (capped sleeve)
Total Length: 13 inches
Belt: 24 - 26.5 inches (smallest to largets hole)
Good Vintage Condition - Some overall wear to the pieces, including some loose threads here and there - inside and outside - that do not seam to impact wear, some faint marks and wear spots that were hard to show up camera. The bolero and hem of dress have some small regular pinholes where the stitching has occurred around the boarder.
OTHER NOTES: The eyelet black portion of the bodice is tacked onto the red portion so it should not fall down while worn. There are two straps on the inside of the bodice, but their placement suggests they are there more for the hanger, not wearability. The zipper does work, it just did not zip on model because dress is not her size. Taffeta likes to wrinkle, so I advice hanging it as soon as you receive it to minimize permanent creases.
