1960s Vintage Long White Petticoat or Hoop Skirt- Xs
A classic vintage staple - the petticoat! Vintage petticoats are the secret to anyones mid-century vintage wardrobe. They can help minimizing undergarment lines while adding volume to your look. A true vintage fashion staple. This petticoat was technically a hoop skirt- though unfortunately the metal wires that were inserted inside the garment are pretty degraded and rusty and WILL NOT come with the garment. That being said, it still functions as a great petticoat and if you wanted to add the framework into the piece, the fabric inserts to hold the framework is still intact. Fabric does not have give! There are no closures so this is a pull on item. There are no labels. Would likely best fit a modern Extra small. Dress form is a size 0 for reference.

Measurements :
Waist: 22 -27 inches (depending on elastic stretch)
Hips: up to about 40 inches
Length: 42 inches
Good to Fair vintage condition- Some overall wear to the piece. As stated above, the original intent of this garment was to be a hoop skirt, but that structure is degraded and had to be tossed. While it no longer functions as a hoops skirt, it does function as a lovely slip/petticoat. The original elastic is shot, someone in the past added more atop it that works, but may need to be replaced soon as it pretty unforgiving. There are also some marks and discoloration/yellowing I could not get out of the garment. Some of the skirt also has small holes. Would make a great costume or study!
I think it was intended to have 4 layers of framing for the structure that slide into the white cotton tubes inside the garment (one is pictured just after the dress form photos), so it could be a relatively substantial hoop skirt IF you are savvy and can find what to replace it with.
All measurements are approximate as they are taken flat - for garments specifically this means where applicable (bust, waist, hips) has been doubled unless stated otherwise. If you are uncertain about fit and/or need more measurements please ask! If it is provided in the listing, models and/or dress form sizes are used as a point of reference only. Please remember that all bodies are different so always defer to the measurements I provide and check them against your own, preferably on a similar style garment. If you need more information about my measurements and vintage sizing please refer to my FAQs section under my Shop Policies page and ask me, I am here to help!!
