1960s Vintage Red Green & Blue Plaid Wool Scalloped Blouse & Skirt Set - Md to Lg
A lovely mid century (likely early 60s) matching suit set! This lovely set features a short sleeve top and matching skirt. The colors are predominately red and blue, but there is a lovely green running through the plaid as well (see up close image). The lovely additional detail of scalloping to the blouse is just so sweet. Top zips up the back with metal zipper and skirt hooks and zips up the side with metal zipper. The fabric feels like a wool and it is not lined. Neither jacket nor dress have any tags to indicate maker, so its possibly hand made. Would likely best fit a modern Medium possibly a Large, but please see measurements. The model is modern size 4/6 for reference and bust felt a bit large.

Bust: 38 inches
Waist: 32 inches
Hem: 36 inches
Length: 20 inches (measured from back of neck and down)
Sleeve Length: 11 inches
Measurements of Skirt:
Waist: 28 inches from flat lay; 29 pulled taught

Good vintage condition - Overall wear to pieces. There are a few loose threads and a few small pulls to each piece, but overall very minor and not visible when worn. The interior seam allotments of both the top and skirt show some wear. There are some snaps on the inside of the collar of the top but nothing to snap to them - I suspect at one point it was a removable collar, but this is now missing. You could always add your own. The inside of the top shows some cuts to the fabric (shown) - these are from when it was made to ensure the garment lays properly and are not flaws! Both zippers have a bit of a “wave” to them when zipped up (last photo)- but I don’t think it would affect wear at all. A few very small tiny holes or pulls found.
All measurements are approximate as they are taken flat - for garments specifically this means where applicable (bust, waist, hips) has been doubled unless stated otherwise. If you are uncertain about fit and/or need more measurements please ask! If it is provided in the listing, models and/or dress form sizes are used as a point of reference only. Please remember that all bodies are different so always defer to the measurements I provide and check them against your own, preferably on a similar style garment.
