1940s 1950s Vintage Deadstock O'Neils Creamy Off-White Beaded Headpiece or Hat

$55.00

For Spring and summer. you really cant go wrong with the versatility of an creamy off white or ivory headpiece. This lovely late 40s or early 50s headpiece would make a great addition to any hat collectors collection! The piece overall is off-white or ivory in color and features beads in white and cream, with an additional almost ivory-taupe colored embroidery detail. The piece is formed with an internal wire around the rim, with two bits that come down that help to fasten to the head (almost like a head band). Label is for O’Neils and has the original store tag.

Measures about 6 inches ear to ear (though this is without adjusting the wire side piece, which can bend out a bit - kind of like a headband)

Good Vintage Condition - The piece has some overall wear even though it is deadstock. This is just because of how it was stored in the past. There are numerous marks and areas of discoloration and/or slight yellowing to the piece to both the outer and underside. You can see some areas where there is slight glue residue in places as well as various marks to the fabric and even on some beads. There is wear to the beads, mostly the creamier beads, as they look to have bean painted that color and the color is starting to come off. There are a few loose threads, but they do not seem to impact wear. I could not find any areas where beads were obviously missing. The metal piece that is pinning the original tag is rusted, I recommend removing it before trying the piece on. Some slight dents to the piece, but I think overall its meant to have a scalloped brim in front so the additional dents don’t seem all that obvious.

All measurements are approximate as they are taken flat - for garments specifically this means where applicable (bust, waist, hips) has been doubled unless stated otherwise. If you are uncertain about fit and/or need more measurements please ask! If it is provided in the listing, models and/or dress form sizes are used as a point of reference only. Please remember that all bodies are different so always defer to the measurements I provide and check them against your own, preferably on a similar style garment. If you need more information about my measurements and vintage sizing please refer to my FAQs section under my Shop Policies page and ask me, I am here to help!!
