1940s 1950s Vintage Light Green Western Square Dance or Cute Academic Style Clip-on Bow Tie

$29.00

This tie is an incredible example of a 1940s or 1950s western “square dance” or just a cute little bow tie. The piece is a clip on. To use the clips, one must pull the bow pieces- which cover an internal metal element - forward (shown in photo) as this releases the clamp for the actual metal clip seen. It sounds complicated, but once you understand how the mechanism works its really straight forward and easy! It is a lovely light green, almost moss colored bow and while I am uncertain of fabric, it feels like rayon. Labeled for “Ormond NYC”.

Measurements:

The bow is approximately 4.75 inches across and 7 inches long (one strand is longer than the other, which I believe is intentional).

Good vintage condition- Some overall wear. There is some notable discoloration/yellowing to the piece as well as numerous small little spots throughout the fabric that I was unable to lift. Some minor tarnish and wear to the metal as well.

All measurements are approximate as they are taken flat - for garments specifically this means where applicable (bust, waist, hips) has been doubled unless stated otherwise. If you are uncertain about fit and/or need more measurements please ask! If it is provided in the listing, models and/or dress form sizes are used as a point of reference only. Please remember that all bodies are different so always defer to the measurements I provide and check them against your own, preferably on a similar style garment. If you need more information about my measurements and vintage sizing please refer to my FAQs section under my Shop Policies page and ask me, I am here to help!!

Summaries about an item's condition are stated above and should be used in conjunction with the images provided.
