1940s 1950s Vintage Cream Felt Bucket or Cloche Hat with Sequins
An absolutely stunning hat that is sure to take everyones breath away! The beautiful bell shape gives a very cloche-like look. The hat is made of a lovely cream felted wool with a beautifully detailed scalloped rim. It has been intricately stitched with sequins throughout the brim and the top. The crown has a pleated ribbon around it. The label is for “Murriel”. I will be honest, the label has thrown me a bit of a curve ball in terms of dating. While the hat and label itself suggest the hat belongs to the 1940s, the only comparison hat I found with the same label was most defiantly mid-century. This could mean the company just didn’t change its label over for a decade… whose to say. Regardless of the date, it is absolutely beautiful.

Measurements:
Interior circumference: about 22 inches (my head is 21.5 and it seemed to fit perfectly for the bucket hat or cloche look)
Depth: about 6.5 inches
Good Vintage Condition - Overall wear to the hat, with a tiny worn spot found inside the brim. The pleating is a bit loose in spots. There are a few small marks on the piece, especially the satin ribbon- they are mostly so small they did not really show up all that well on camera- sorry! A few sequins are broken or missing throughout. The tag is lifting on one side.
All measurements are approximate as they are taken flat - for garments specifically this means where applicable (bust, waist, hips) has been doubled unless stated otherwise. If you are uncertain about fit and/or need more measurements please ask! If it is provided in the listing, models and/or dress form sizes are used as a point of reference only. Please remember that all bodies are different so always defer to the measurements I provide and check them against your own, preferably on a similar style garment. If you need more information about my measurements and vintage sizing please refer to my FAQs section under my Shop Policies page and ask me, I am here to help!!
