UNIQUE 1950s Vintage Pale Creamy Pink Satin Hand Beaded Hat or Headpiece & Veil

$55.00

This stunning very light pink - almost cream - headpiece would make a great addition to a bridal outfit for a wedding. The piece is comprised of what feels like a satin fabric that is then layered with intricate beadwork atop it, as well as a tiny veil for the front. The piece is more like a headpiece than a hat - almost a head band, as the wire frame can be pulled to make it slightly larger (very much like a headband). You may need to pin this to keep it on ones head securely. There is no tag to indicate maker.

Across (from ear to ear not pulled): about 5.5 inches (though as its a headpiece, it does somewhat act as a headband and can be pulled out some)

Width (top to bottom): about 6 inches

Good Vintage Condition - Some overall wear to the piece. Some discoloration and yellowing to the item with some marks found and of course beads of this age tend to be discolored - as expected. Fabric yellowing is most significant to the lace underside of the item. Some wear spots to the fabric seen and loose edges of the bead thread, but nothing appears to be actively missing except for one of the hooked beads at the earpiece (there is one present on one side, but not the other - see last two pictures for comparison of sides). The metal of the 3 hanging beads is corroded. Some smaller rips to the netted veil. Minor bend to the wire frame and a little bit of a dent to the fabric on top. Just to note, the largest beads are actually glued on, not threaded like the other beads.

All measurements are approximate as they are taken flat - for garments specifically this means where applicable (bust, waist, hips) has been doubled unless stated otherwise. If you are uncertain about fit and/or need more measurements please ask! If it is provided in the listing, models and/or dress form sizes are used as a point of reference only. Please remember that all bodies are different so always defer to the measurements I provide and check them against your own, preferably on a similar style garment. If you need more information about my measurements and vintage sizing please refer to my FAQs section under my Shop Policies page and ask me, I am here to help!!
