1960s Vintage Black Wool Dress with Copper Leaf Detailing - Sm to Md
A lovely Fall or Winter sheath style dress in black with copper-orange detailing. This beautiful piece would make the loveliest dress for a Fall gathering. The embroidered leaf detailing on the piece gives just the right touch of Fall. And the lovely gathering at the waist really completes the whole look. The fabric feels like wool, but is lined (sleeves only partially lined)! It zips up the back with a metal zipper. Only a 60s union tag found. Would likely best fit a Medium, possibly a small. Model is modern size 4/6 and dress form is a medium for reference.

Measurements:
Bust: 37 inches / 38 inches pulled taught
Waist: 28 inches
Hips: 38 inches
Length: 44 inches
Sleeve Length: about 16 inches (no seam to measure from)
Good vintage condition - There is some overall wear to the piece. The dress has some minor pilling in places to the fabric. The biggest issue I found is to the embroidery. There are multiple areas throughout where edges are loose or where it has been pulled, leaving stray threads in multiple places - see pictures. From afar this doesn’t seem too obvious, but when you look up close it is. Some wear and markings to the inside as well. A few other loose threads that don’t seam to impact wear. Not really a flaw, but raw hem to the inner lining.
All measurements are approximate as they are taken flat - for garments specifically this means where applicable (bust, waist, hips) has been doubled unless stated otherwise. If you are uncertain about fit and/or need more measurements please ask! If it is provided in the listing, models and/or dress form sizes are used as a point of reference only. Please remember that all bodies are different so always defer to the measurements I provide and check them against your own, preferably on a similar style garment. If you need more information about my measurements and vintage sizing please refer to my FAQs section under my Shop Policies page and ask me, I am here to help!!
