1950s 1960s Vintage Blue and White Striped Pinafore or Candy Striper Style Dress - XS
These style pieces make wonderful dresses for summer as you can really change up the look with what you layer underneath it! This lovely blue and white striped dress features two sizable pockets. It also buttons at the back! Fabric feels like cotton. There are no label or size tags. Based upon the construction and fabric this piece likely dates from the 50s to 60s. Would likely best fit a modern Extra Small. For reference model is modern women’s size 4/6 and it was a bit tight. Dress form is size 0 and it seemed to fit nicely. Please note that the white top underneath - as is shown on model- does not come with this piece.

Measurements :
Bust: somewhat open given the pinafore style of open sides, but model is modern 34B for reference.
Waist: 25 inches
Hips : about 40 inches MAX
Length: 35 inches - There is a very sizable about of hem to this piece should you want to make it longer.
Good vintage condition - Some overall wear to the piece. The most notable flaw is that there is some white paint found on the hem (see front facing photos) that I could not get out. There are also a few spots and areas of faint discoloration to the piece. The discoloration is really only very noticeable when you hold the outside facing part of the hem to the inside facing part of the hem - then the difference is much more stark. That being said, this particular issue does not seem too noticeable to me when its just worn. There are a few loose threads that do not seem to impact wear.
All measurements are approximate as they are taken flat - for garments specifically this means where applicable (bust, waist, hips) has been doubled unless stated otherwise. If you are uncertain about fit and/or need more measurements please ask! If it is provided in the listing, models and/or dress form sizes are used as a point of reference only. Please remember that all bodies are different so always defer to the measurements I provide and check them against your own, preferably on a similar style garment. If you need more information about my measurements and vintage sizing please refer to my FAQs section under my Shop Policies page and ask me, I am here to help!!
