1950s 1960s Vintage Hattie Leeds Burgundy & Gold Plaid Shirtwaist Dress with Pocket- Sm to Md
A lovely shirtwaist dress that could easily become your next wardrobe staple. The color is primarily burgundy, but the plaid includes golden toned thread as well as thin sandy, orange, and red stripes (see up close image). There is one large front pocket too! The dress buttons fully up the front. It features belt loops and has the original belt! Label is partially cut off but is for “Hattie Leeds”. There is no content tag, but it feels like cotton. It is thinner and light weight, so I would recommend wearing a slip. Would likely best fits modern Small possibly a Medium, but please see measurements. For reference model is modern size 4/6.

Measurements :
Bust: 39 inches from flat lay; 40 pulled taught but trying to keep pleating in tact - I do think bodice area is meant to fit a bit loose, like a casual shirt.
Waist: 27 inches from flat lay, 28 pulled taught
Hips: 40 inches
Length: 46 inches (measured from back of collar straight down)
Sleeve Length: about 4 inches cuffed (there was no seam to measure to)
Belt: between 27 and 30.5 inches with the current holes
Good vintage condition - Some overall wear to the dress with some minor color fade like is to be expected from something thats been washed a few times. There are a few loose threads and tiny pulls here and there that do not seem to impact wear. Some minor wear to buttons/buttons holes and belt. Some evidence of past repairs too. This is not a flaw but I want to mention that a lot of blue thread was used when this dress was made (like at the buttonholes and hem) - it was intentional but I just thought it worth mentioning. Some wear to inner seam allotments and tag.
All measurements are approximate as they are taken flat - for garments specifically this means where applicable (bust, waist, hips) has been doubled unless stated otherwise. If you are uncertain about fit and/or need more measurements please ask! If it is provided in the listing, models and/or dress form sizes are used as a point of reference only. Please remember that all bodies are different so always defer to the measurements I provide and check them against your own, preferably on a similar style garment.
